- Remi Fortin's prepped 750 SOHC
- This is Remi's story about the engine:
-1030 c.c. kit, M.T.C. pistons and con-rods (aluminium).
-1978 s.s. head (2 mm bigger valves), stiffer springs, ported, polished
and flowed by YOSHIMA back in the 70's
-chrome moly studs, all threaded holes "heli-coiled". Extra
supports (8) on valve cover for cam towers.
-R.C. 315 39 camshaft and r.c. Mallory ignition (distributor type).
-30 mm MIKUNI smoothbores (once had WEBERS)
-BARNETT clutch
-lightened altenator
-4-1 KERKER competition exhaust (black)
-LOCKHART oil cooler
-frame cut and rewelded, for easy removal of head on bike
-LESTERS mags
-1978 front-end with dual discs, chromed forks, swing-arm, valve cover
and engine cases (sides), the rest of motor is black.
This bike was stored in a heated garage for 20 years,Vaseline on everything
that could oxidize. The owner bought a motorcycle dealership and had
no more time to work on his old bike. One of his friends built one (almost
identical) at the same time with the smaller valves, it supposedly was
putting out close to 100 BHP (pretty amazing). I heard that stock at
rear wheel is 45-50 hp.
